Kiva loan to Armenia

Made a Kiva loan to Armenia.
Elmira is 54 years old and she lives in Kadjaran city, which is in Syunik region. She graduated from the College of Pharmacy in Yerevan city. Now she works at the medical college and she teaches two subjects: medicine technology and commodity manager. Elmira is married and she lives with her husband and her son’s family. Elmira earns good money for her family, since she simultaneously has a business of her own. In a rented shop she sells food (bread, dairy products, cans, sweets, coffee, etc.) and household products. She manages to have a lot of customers during a day thanks to low prices and kind attitude towards customers. She brings her shop products from Yerevan wholesale market once every two weeks.

Elmira asks for a loan of 1,100,000 Armenian drams (AMD) in order to refresh and enlarge her shop's product assortment.

Used shoes in Africa

Found a Kiva loan in 'used shoes' from a microlender I haven't used before.

Sulait is from Ishaka, Uganda

Sulait is a businessman dealing in shoes, a business he started in 1993 with the purpose of getting a clear source of income that he could use to provide for his children. He works six days a week and 10 hours a day. Sulait also does some coffee trade, which supplements his income. He goes to different locations and mainly to open markets and his clients are all categories of people.

Sulait would like to use this loan to buy bales of used shoes to provide additional stock for him. His main business challenge is lack of enough capital, but he is hopeful that this will be no more if he receives this loan since he will buy more stock and make more profits. Sulait's future hopes include educating his children using his meager resources so that they can attain an education and compete favorably for jobs and other things on the market.

Kiva loan to Tajikistan

I've been looking at Kiva's new statistic page (for your own loans) and have decided to fill as many of the categories as possible.

So far I have all 15 sectors.
I have 65/73 countries - I've been checking for a while to try to find a loan in the ones I haven't loaned to.

I have 120/149 activities and
151/230 partners.

Went searching and it took a while till I found a loan in an activity and with a partner on my list.

The loan is in Tajikistan,

Muhabbat is a woman of middle age. She was born and raised in the town of Isfara. She got married at an early age. But she and her husband did not live together for long since their characters did not agree and after the birth of their child they decided to separate. She was tired of the endless quarrels. Muhabbat left him, and began life on her own. At the beginning, it was very hard for her with a little one to care for. But later she found herself work. Now, she buys and sells dried fruits in the local markets. And at night she sews national dresses.

After she bought a new apartment, Muhabbat renovated it and now with the approaching winter she wants to put up plastic doors and windows. Muhabbat decided to turn to the organization Arvand for material support, since she did not have sufficient funds. With the loan received, Muhabbat wants to buy windows and doors and to install them in her home. She thanks Arvand in advance for the help and support.
